When it comes to computer parts and assembly I always go to PC Express to get the things that I need for my freelance computer repair gig. A few years back I always have to visit the branch directly since the Internet was not that accessible and even if it was, the website wasn’t there yet (or maybe I haven’t found it yet ). The website was made accessible some how and they are updating it gradually. I am used to talking to people more than just reading the PDF price list that they have so I’d often call them rather than paying them a visit with no guarantee that I will get what I want. They have posted a “Hotline” on their website that turns out to be COLD since it will keep you waiting for an operator on a minimum of 25 minutes. Even if you have nothing to do all day this can be annoying. To avoid having the same experience as I had I listed a few numbers of their branches on this post together with some from RUN UP Philippines.

I’m not sure if this is the complete list but still you will be able to inquire about the things that you need (without the on queue girl talking on the other line).

Not everybody though is a fan of PCX but through them you will be able to get an idea how much you will your computer parts cost. As for their competitors such as Villman, Asianic, etc. they have a more user friendly website where you can call their branches directly.

There are a lot of Globe Tatoo unlocker tools available on the internet nowadays. I just noticed that my friend is having problems with versions similar to mine the “Huawei E1552. He said that the algorithm option does not work, this simply means that the E1552 can only be opened manually and not by his current unlocker. I happen to have tried over 5 programs and got one that really works, I’m using it now and got my USB modem opened. I would like to share this by unlocking your modem for free provided that it’s a E1552. You know the procedure right? Just send me the IMEI and I’ll do the rest. The settings for the modem is everywhere. I just noticed that some the settings really vary, based on older post by other users the optional settings were on CHAP whereas on my settings its PAP.

I read the blog title from one of the forums I found while looking for this software. I saved around 1800PHP because I don’t have to buy all three USB dongles having a 3 networks as my mobile provider this proves to be one of the best things that we can get for free. I’m not sure how to lock it again though but I don’t think that you’ll be breaking such a nifty tool for your daily internet browsing needs right? Let’s get this started. Once you have received your unlock code, insert your Smart or Sun SIM on your Globe Tatoo USB Dongle. Once you plug it in, it will ask for the unlock code. There is an error margin of 10 trials (3 wrong entries is too much). After it accepts the code you can proceed with the settings of your Globe Tatoo USB dongle.

Here are the settings:

SMARTBRO SIM:

APN: SMARTBRO

DIAL: *99#
PROTOCOL: PAP
DNS: (Advanced Setting)

Primary DNS: 208.67.222.222

Secondary DNS: 208.67.220.220

SUN (Works with SUN Postpaid SIM cards):

APN: minternet

DIAL: *99#
PROTOCOL: PAP
DNS: (Advanced Setting)

Primary DNS: 208.67.222.222

Secondary DNS: 208.67.220.220

SMART PREPAID SIM (Works with Postpaid SIM cards too!):

APN: internet
DIAL: *99#
PROTOCOL: PAP
DNS: (Advanced Setting)

Primary DNS: 208.67.222.222

Secondary DNS: 208.67.220.220

To get a better picture of the settings you can refer to the images below:

Network Profile:

Reading my emails as usual, I came across this article from IT Business Edge saying that he (Don Tennant) no longer wants his iPhone or any products made by Apple itself. After reading the article it made sad that he marked iPod Touch and iPhone users as lapdogs. The issue is 8 months old but it was pretty much insulting on my side as an Apple consumer and I had to speak for myself.

I know that human rights is a big deal but I think the blog went a bit overboard by saying harsh things to the consumer. Not all consumers know these things and informing the public on how Apple run things is more than enough. The blog though is easily indexed by search engines because of the keywords used as a lot of people are looking into this nifty piece of technology and wants to enjoy it’s benefits. From what I can see Don wanted to inform the public and get its sympathy and teach Apple a lesson by boycotting the company which is one in a million chances could happen but then again would take more than a simple blog entry that bashes its consumers rather than getting a on to their good side.

“And it’s even more galling that the media and Apple enthusiasts buy into it like docile lap dogs, happily chasing the bones that Jobs throws out, and reverently licking up the crumbs under his theatrical table.”

http://tinyurl.com/yaqeayv is the link to his blog where I found this sad remark. I am an iPod user and am planning to get an iPhone soon so it caught my attention and went on reading it. There were of course a small portion of people who agreed with his remorse towards Apple’s actions. Foxconn a company in Taiwan that has a manufacturing plant in Shenzhen China has 270,000 employees or more and supplies electronic equipments to some of the world’s largest companies is a biggie. Considering that these multi-million earning companies entrust their trade secrets to these people, Foxconn must be really strict with their policies. Who knows how many has suffered the same fate because of negligence and espionage within this company’s walls. Suicide might have been an escape for the employee that jumped from the building. Who knows what other personal issues this person might have also had. The guy has died and there is nothing we can do about it, it’s their country and they have their own policies, this is the second time that Apple and Foxconn has clashed but it seems . Way back in 2006 Apple even investigated the maltreatment of Foxconn towards its employees. Foxconn denied the accusations, and law suites were filed but then dropped. Based on the reports it was Foxconn’s people who made the search and I think it’s uncalled for to put the blame on Apple alone since it is Foxconn who manages their people. I have nothing against these people I just don’t like people sticking their noses where it doesn’t belong and making us think what they want us to, and calling innocent people DOGS which we are not.
