I hope you enjoyed the song from my previous post “Close Up Commercial 2009″. I never really had the full details of who, what where and when was the commercial published and who the cast were. One thing is for sure I got a lot of hits and emails from those who loved to have the song. The word “Iklan” means “commercial” or “advertisement” in Indonesia and the song title is “Come Closer” or “Paas Aao Na” since this is a common theme for the toothpaste ad. It is not Rico Blanco who composed this song, he made his own version and that is final. If he had this song on his released album “Your Universe” (which I never had a chance to listen nor got interested after he left Rivermaya – pardon me RB fans) before September 2008 then I rest my case (for now), there is a possibility that he did composed it. A lot of viewers from my YouTube account has been debating over this song. At first it was all about “what is the title of the song” questions (which was included on the video’s title) to “where can I download this song?” (this can be found on the video’s information on the upper right corner) after Rico Blanco made his version they started to argue who really composed the song. I’m not saying that RB’s version is all bad but I’m not saying that it’s that good either. Read the rest of this entry »

Meet Corrine
I got his habit of giving names to my stuff that means a lot to me. From my guitars to my computers and other gadgets that I bought. After my iPod “G” and “Eleanor” (C2Q) desktop last June 28, 2009 we purchased a Compaq CQ40-340TU from Asianic, SM North EDSA Annex branch. I was just planning to get the CQ40-108TU which was on sale at that time. Unfortunately the last laptop was sold out because it only cost 19,995.00PHP on Silicon Valley, SM North EDSA. They told me to go to Robinson’s Pioneer to check if they still have it available. This is a dual core laptop with 2Ghz processor that is more than enough to get the job done for my freelance work. They’ve sold 6 units when I got there and the last piece will be sold on a cheaper price since it has a small crack on the battery case. The store manager or whatever they call him left Silicon Valley Robinson’s Pioneer left without giving them instructions on how much they would sell it. So there, I looked around and found this nifty Compaq laptop from Villman. They also said that they are taking 3,500PHP off from the original price and the unit comes with a free Vista Starter disc and a Globe Prepaid Broadband Tattoo for 29,948.00 PHP
We browsed for more shops and found a better deal from Asianic, same laptop for a cheaper price (comes with the same package as Villman’s) with a free 1Gb memory upgrade.
So I got the Dog Tag and an Ako Mismo Mug from one of the charitable institutions there. Thanks to “curious_girl” she posted that these Dog Tags will be available once again in July. You can read more about her post by clicking >>>>HERE<<<<<. I hope you guys can follow the link this time. (LOL!)
Here they are:

This mug may not be available, I’m not sure about it though.

” On June 12, 2009, the AKO MISMO dog tags will be made available to the public for the very first time. The dog tags will be sold at P40 each; the proceeds of which will go to our beneficiary charity partners and to the socio-civic activities which we will be mounting nationwide. It is such an important event for us that we declared it the AKO MISMO DOG TAG DAY which will be held at the Bonifacio Global City Open Field in Taguig City.
The event will start at 2pm when we start selling the dog tags to the public. The dog tag will be your entrance ticket to the events of the day.
From 2PM onwards, you have the opportunity to mill around and check out the eleven charity booths we have set up, as well as other activity ! booths.
Gaming nowadays is a widely recognized part of our cultural landscape. But those of us over thirty are just old enough to remember a time before gaming, before digital entertainment invaded the arcades, our computers and our homes.
The concept of hooking up an electronic game system to a television set was invented by Ralph Bauer in the early 1950s. Later he took his ideas to the TV company Magnavox, which released a refined version of his “Brown Box” prototype as the Magnavox Odyssey in 1972. The Odyssey was primitive, displaying only spots of light on the TV screen, and it required translucent plastic overlays to simulate the appearance of a game. Still, the revolution was underway, and there was no way stopping it.
The video game console is nearly 50 years old and to think that if it weren’t for William Higinbotham and his oscilloscope, gamers around the world would still be playing board games. Below is a time line of the previous gaming systems and their evolution to the modern system.

The console’s development continues even today. The great thing about this is that the gaming space has grown in leaps and bounds. Soon the next generation of consoles will be released, as these gaming wars rage on. The delightful result for gamers is that we cannot lose. With these Big Three and PC game developers constantly at it, we can look forward to a great game in the works on any given day. Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo will soon be releasing their new consoles, and PC developers will soon be releasing many great new titles. With Sony’s Playstation 3, Microsoft’s XBOX 360, and Nintendo’s Revolution on the horizon the console wars will continue to provide us with much in the way of gaming entertainment.
The gaming has changed greatly and for the better. How do you think will it look to you 20 years from now? With the huge strides that the industry keeps making, we could indeed see some exciting and revolutionary things. And they won’t be all that long in coming.
