When it comes to computer parts and assembly I always go to PC Express to get the things that I need for my freelance computer repair gig. A few years back I always have to visit the branch directly since the Internet was not that accessible and even if it was, the website wasn’t there yet (or maybe I haven’t found it yet ). The website was made accessible some how and they are updating it gradually. I am used to talking to people more than just reading the PDF price list that they have so I’d often call them rather than paying them a visit with no guarantee that I will get what I want. They have posted a “Hotline” on their website that turns out to be COLD since it will keep you waiting for an operator on a minimum of 25 minutes. Even if you have nothing to do all day this can be annoying. To avoid having the same experience as I had I listed a few numbers of their branches on this post together with some from RUN UP Philippines.

I’m not sure if this is the complete list but still you will be able to inquire about the things that you need (without the on queue girl talking on the other line).

Not everybody though is a fan of PCX but through them you will be able to get an idea how much you will your computer parts cost. As for their competitors such as Villman, Asianic, etc. they have a more user friendly website where you can call their branches directly.

I don’t want to be a pessimist nor an antagonist to the idea but whatever rates they propose, we can do nothing about it since mobile communications is becoming more of a necessity than luxury.

Some people really doesnt know when to change

They put the blame on COMELEC, Meralco and the rain (As far as I know this has been going on for a long time now)

This is a part of the official document released by COMELEC last year:

Who will win the elections?

Noynoy and Mar? - Hmmn padjakan na! (Peace out!)

Joseph Estrada and Binay? – Legal Jueteng and di kaya mapuno ng Mini-Stop ang Pinas? (nagtatanong lang po madalas po kasi ako sa nasasakupan nyo eh.)

Chiz – Kumalas sa partido? dahil daw ba sa pondo na maliit lang?

Loren – Fighter ‘tong si madam but nobody seems to notice?

Gido – Out of nowhere from somewhere? maganda ang plataporma but is it really worth it?

There are more politicians out there that I want to discuss but never mind them for now.

What will I get this Christmas?

Oh did you know that the 12 Days of Christmas song has a deeper meaning into it?

I wish him Long Life! - Amen!

No shopping for us this year

I want my Chucks!

15th month zero alcohol!

I’ve spent most of my days working with either a noontime show on the background or the evening news. Burn the night away with prime time telenovelas or the regular Sky Cable movie channels. This last two months that has passed has been very hard and informative. It’s the late night discussions with family members and friends that keeps me going. I think I already have Gephyrophobia on heavy rains… want to get over it soon… I felt it when we crossed Pulilan bridge last Wednesday.

More stories to come this month

I’m currently working on a new design for my website. I got a lot of things in mind to make better SEO (Search Engine Optimization) results. It may take awhile before I upload the new design since I’m working with Illustrator CS4 while trying to decide whether I should stay on an HTML based website or go full flash. I’ve read a few articles saying that full flash websites does not work too well with SEO.

While writing this post I began to realize why some coffee shops with free WiFi access set their room temperature to 16 or so degrees… Unless you are really used to this temperature, you’d last for only an hour or so because of the bitter cold that numbs your palms. Funny how they only keep the electrical outlets inside the shop and yes the WiFi access extends to the a certain radius but some coffee shops does not offer an extension outlet. If you plan to stay for more than an hour on this coffee shop to work for an hour or two using your laptop either you bring a jacket or freeze to death. We marked the mobile experience here as “FAILED”. This coffee shop is just besides RoadHouse Grill in Boni Highstreet.

Krispy Kremes? Hmmn they do have free WiFi access and a lot of tables in and outside of the store but since it’s a family doughnut shop… It’s kinda hard to work on an environment with kids running around and screaming or horse playing LOL. It might work for some but not for me

Moving on we went to Starbucks just a few meters away. Airborne Access is available here in Bonifacio Highstreet so for those who has their Smart Airborne Access accounts activated (this also applies to those who has their AirBorne Access accounts using other systems)this is a good spot for you. I checked the download speed via SpeedTest.Net and got a download speed of 3.3 MBPS. Below is a screenshot of the results. Yay! 13 seconds for a 5MB MP3 astig di ba!? So there…

If you happen to know more free WiFi spots here in Manila please do not hesitate to post me a message. I still have a few drafts that still needs more information regarding WiFi access both free and post paid services. A list of them from your area will surely be helpful.

” On June 12, 2009, the AKO MISMO dog tags will be made available to the public for the very first time. The dog tags will be sold at P40 each; the proceeds of which will go to our beneficiary charity partners and to the socio-civic activities which we will be mounting nationwide. It is such an important event for us that we declared it the AKO MISMO DOG TAG DAY which will be held at the Bonifacio Global City Open Field in Taguig City.

The event will start at 2pm when we start selling the dog tags to the public. The dog tag will be your entrance ticket to the events of the day.

From 2PM onwards, you have the opportunity to mill around and check out the eleven charity booths we have set up, as well as other activity ! booths.

We look forward to your participation at the AKO MISMO DOG TAG DAY. Thank you for your continued support. ”

This was the email I received from them . This made things a little clearer since people thought that this was a campaign to attract the attention of the masses and Ako Mismo was used for the 2010 Presidential elections but who knows? It’s the concert that matters LOL . I made no changes on the email that they’ve sent. If you are interested register to their website. I may not be watching the concert itself but the dog tags look cool hehe.
