I’m currently working on a new design for my website. I got a lot of things in mind to make better SEO (Search Engine Optimization) results. It may take awhile before I upload the new design since I’m working with Illustrator CS4 while trying to decide whether I should stay on an HTML based website or go full flash. I’ve read a few articles saying that full flash websites does not work too well with SEO.

While writing this post I began to realize why some coffee shops with free WiFi access set their room temperature to 16 or so degrees… Unless you are really used to this temperature, you’d last for only an hour or so because of the bitter cold that numbs your palms. Funny how they only keep the electrical outlets inside the shop and yes the WiFi access extends to the a certain radius but some coffee shops does not offer an extension outlet. If you plan to stay for more than an hour on this coffee shop to work for an hour or two using your laptop either you bring a jacket or freeze to death. We marked the mobile experience here as “FAILED”. This coffee shop is just besides RoadHouse Grill in Boni Highstreet.

Krispy Kremes? Hmmn they do have free WiFi access and a lot of tables in and outside of the store but since it’s a family doughnut shop… It’s kinda hard to work on an environment with kids running around and screaming or horse playing LOL. It might work for some but not for me :)

Moving on we went to Starbucks just a few meters away. Airborne Access is available here in Bonifacio Highstreet so for those who has their Smart Airborne Access accounts activated (this also applies to those who has their AirBorne Access accounts using other systems)this is a good spot for you. I checked the download speed via SpeedTest.Net and got a download speed of 3.3 MBPS. Below is a screenshot of the results. Yay! 13 seconds for a 5MB MP3 astig di ba!? So there…

If you happen to know more free WiFi spots here in Manila please do not hesitate to post me a message. I still have a few drafts that still needs more information regarding WiFi access both free and post paid services. A list of them from your area will surely be helpful.

this is nice Jon.

Dome Cafe st Shangri-la uses airborne access. results are good. if you have an airborne account you can use it for free.

You could also ask the crew at Dome for a username and pw just in case you don’t have an account with airborne.

You can order a cup of coffee or soda which is not so pricey. and voila free wifi for you.

The range covers in door and outdoor as well. :)

Log live airborne hahaha. I just wish that establishments support WiFi more. SM Megamall and North EDSA has free access now. Robinson’s has WiFi too but very limited access… :)
